Using ShutterSnitch on the iPhone
On my iPad for Photographers blog, I wrote about how I turned to ShutterSnitch on my iPhone—more often than on my iPad—to transfer many of my photos at Disneyland. Although the iPad is much lighter than a laptop, I found it easier to carry just the iPhone around the park. (I know, lots of ShutterSnitch ...
ShutterSnitch on the iPhone During Vacation
In the second edition of The iPad for Photographers (which is available now!), I focus on using ShutterSnitch to import photos wirelessly from a camera using a Wi-Fi card such as the Eye-Fi to the iPad. While I’ve been on vacation this week, however, I’ve been leaning on ShutterSnitch but using my iPhone instead. I’ve ...
New Article: ShutterSnitch, the Wireless Photo Assistant for iOS
Over at CreativePro, I look at the excellent PhotoSnitch utility for importing photos into an iPad: ShutterSnitch, the Wireless Photo Assistant for iOS. Although I discussed the Eye-Fi software in the first edition of the book, I tossed that for the second edition and expanded on using ShutterSnitch because it just works.

Best apps for pro photographers at iMore.com
Leanna Lofte at iMore.com has a good article listing apps for pro photographers that isn’t just a collection of image editors. In fact, there isn’t any editing involved here. Instead, Lofte spotlights apps for handling the business side of being a photographer, tracking expenses, and getting model releases (such as Easy Release, which I feature ...
Adobe Demonstrates Early Lightroom for iPad App
This should come as no surprise: Adobe is working on a “Lightroom for iPad” app. What is unexpected is that a very early version exists enough to demonstrate the concept, which is exactly what Tom Hogarty did on Scott Kelby’s The Grid program. Cnet reports: Adobe Systems plans to release high-end photo-editing software for tablets. ...
DSLR Camera Remote Discontinued
I started updating Chapter 3 (“The iPad in the Studio”) for the second edition of The iPad for Photographers, and discovered that OnOne has discontinued DSLR Camera Remote, their product for controlling a camera tethered to a computer via the iPad. The product was discontinued on March 12, and support will end on May 12, ...
Instagram Halloween Costume Shoots and Displays Photos
This is great: Eric Micotto made an “Instagram” Halloween costume that shoots photos. He’s capturing shots using a Nikon D800, which are saved to an Eye-Fi wireless SD card, then transmitted via Wi-Fi to an iPad running ShutterSnitch stashed on the back of his costume.

The replay of my Peachpit Photo Club webcast is now live. See how to wirelessly transfer photos from any camera to the iPad — live! Watch as I edit photos in iPhoto for iOS! Marvel at how I can start the presentation without realizing that I hadn’t yet shared my screen with the rest of ...
Google Acquires Snapseed Developer
Very interesting: According to The Verge, Google is buying Nik Software, creators of the excellent photo-editing app Snapseed. The folks who work directly with Snapseed are moving from San Diego to Google’s Mountain View, CA headquarters to work on Google+. I’m guessing an Android version of the app is almost completed internally, and Google will ...
