iChat Location Setter
Jason Snell at Macworld magazine wrote a clever AppleScript script for setting iChat’s status to reflect where he (or more specifically, his PowerBook) is located: iChat Knows Where I Am. [I know, this isn’t necessarily iMovie related, but I’ve been covering a gamut of topics over the past year, including my latest book iChat AV ...
More on iMovie-Edited Tarnation
Wired News ran a story about Tarnation, Jonathan Caouette’s iMovie-edited film now playing at Sundance: Here’s the Price of Fame: $218.32. Filmmaker Gus van Sant, who has signed on as an executive producer, is quoted as saying: “People assumed that one day film would be as accessible and inexpensive as writing, and now it practically ...
iLife ’04 with iMovie 4
Apple announced iLife ’04 at Macworld Expo today, which includes iMovie 4, iPhoto 4, iDVD 3, iTunes 4, and GarageBand, a cool new program for creating music. iMovie 4 doesn’t look much different, but that’s just on the surface. iMovie 3.5 on the Way?
Think Secret reports that we may see an iMovie 3.5 soon – perhaps at Macworld Expo in January? Of course, only Apple knows, and Apple isn’t saying.
iMovie 3 VQS 40% Off at Amazon
I noticed today that Amazon is selling the book at 40% off, for $11.99. If you haven’t picked up a copy, or if you’re looking for a good holiday gift, this is a pretty good deal. While you’re there, and while I’m shilling anyway, consider the other books I’ve released this year: Palm Organizers, Third ...
Mac OS X 10.3.1 Solves FileVault Issue
Apple released Mac OS X 10.3.1 late yesterday, which apparently fixes the data loss issue with FileVault. I still don’t think FileVault is ready for prime time, but this is progress, at least.
