OWC Thunderbolt 3 Dock at The Seattle Times

When I replaced my aging 2010 MacBook Pro with a new 2016 model, I had to go all-in on USB-C, because that’s the only type of connector the MacBook Pro offers. So I bought a dock into which I could plug everything—Ethernet, USB devices, video, audio—and used only one of the laptop’s four Thunderbolt ports. Unfortunately, when the computer was under heavy processing loads, that dock couldn’t keep up with power supply, so I’d have to plug in the power adapter that came with the MacBook Pro.

In my latest column for The Seattle Times, I look at OWC’s Thunderbolt 3 Dock, which provides more ports and more power than my old one.
