Lightroom Book Addendum Available Now

Learn how to use the latest Lightroom features in this free addition to my book Adobe Lightroom: A Complete Course and Compendium of Features.

Since my book Adobe Lightroom: A Complete Course and Compendium of Features was released in late 2023, Adobe has put out two significant updates to the Lightroom family of apps (Lightroom Classic, Lightroom desktop, and Lightroom mobile). If you own the book, or if you’re curious about the new features (which will hopefully convince you to buy the book!), I’ve created a free addendum that covers what’s new in those releases.

What’s in this addendum? October’s Lightroom updates brought features such as Point Color, Lens Blur, HDR mode, and the ability to work on local files in Lightroom desktop without sending them to the cloud. And then in May, the big addition was Generative Remove, leveraging Adobe’s Firefly generative AI technologies to remove distractions that are difficult to do with the traditional tools, and the ability to archive cloud photos locally in Lightroom desktop to free up cloud storage.

I cover them all, plus some interface changes in the mobile apps using the same easy-to-follow format of Adobe Lightroom: A Complete Course and Compendium of Features. And in the same spirit of the full book, I tried to dig into the features more than surface level, which was particularly challenging when talking about the new HDR features: they’re not straightforward (nor are they the same as the HDR Merge feature that blends exposures), and I’m sure I pulled some hair out trying to wrap my head around what Lightroom is doing.

If you don’t yet own the book, you can order it directly from Rocky Nook in print and electronic versions. Use the code CARLSON40 to get 40% off the price!
