Take Control of Apple Watch, Fourth Edition

The new edition of my book Take Control of Apple Watch is out now, here to answer your questions and get more out of your watch.

Apple Watch owners who upgraded to watchOS 10 a few weeks ago were in for a surprise. The new software adds lots of new features and cleans up the interface in many areas, but it also messes with a few gestures that had become muscle memory. Swiping up from the bottom of the screen now launches the new Smart Stack widgets, while pressing the side button now brings up Control Center. And what happened to the Dock? Gone, replaced with a double-press of the Digital Crown.

What’s going on?

I’m happy to say I have the answers! In the newly-updated fourth edition of Take Control of Apple Watch, which is available now. For just $14.99 you get 261 pages of guidance and know-how about everyone’s favorite smartwatch. If you own a previous edition, be sure to sign in to your Take Control account for special $5 upgrade pricing.

This fourth edition covers those gesture changes, including Double-Tap (which is coming soon), explains just what the Smart Stack is and how it works, and goes into detail on all the important aspects of the Apple Watch, including the new Series 9 and Ultra 2 models. Apple changed quite a bit with the latest watchOS version, from a revamped Maps app to a new Mindfulness mode and more.

I also had the opportunity to chat with Chuck Joiner at MacVoices about this update, which is available in two parts:
