I’ve had an Apple HomePod in my living room for a few weeks, and overall I like it. The sound is great, especially from such a diminutive device, and I like being able to voice commands without pulling out my phone or lifting my Apple Watch.
However, Siri—and other voice interfaces—still have a long way to go. I explain why in my latest Practical Mac column at the Seattle Times: Voice-activated assistants are still relatively dumb.
