I’m thrilled to announce that Take Control of Apple Watch, Sixth Edition is now available! It covers the new watch models—Series 11, Ultra 3, and SE 3—plus changes in watchOS 26. The book has 313 pages (!) of information. My wife asked, “How can there be 300 pages about the Apple Watch?” and I asked myself the same question. That goes to show just how much technology and functionality is packed into the smartwatch.
And how much has changed since last year. The What’s New section includes 17 bullet points about what’s new in this edition. For instance, Apple dramatically revamped how the Workouts app works, added satellite communications to the Ultra 3, added a new way of adding Control Center items, and much more.
To say this was a huge amount of work would be an understatement. Now that I’m a full-time writer at CNET, you won’t be surprised to learn that finding time to update a book like this is more challenging. I’m not complaining, just acknowledging why I wasn’t able to get this done closer to the release of iOS 26.
And now the book is done and out there, which makes me extremely happy. It’s available as an ebook (PDF or EPUB formats) directly from Take Control and costs just $14.99. If you own a previous edition, log in to the Take Control site to see if you qualify for special upgrade pricing. (Note that Amazon currently shows last year’s 5th edition, so there’s some lag before it shows up there; double-check before you buy from Amazon if that’s your choice.)
