Fujifilm 16-50mm Sample Gallery

I took Fuji’s new kit lens to Stockholm to see how it performs as an all-around travel-light option.

When I mentioned to my editor at DPReview that I was headed to Stockholm on vacation, he replied, “Want to take a new lens with you?” I couldn’t say no, and now the results are featured in a sample gallery appended to DPReview’s article about it:

Fujifilm updates one of our favorite kit zooms with 16-50mm F2.8-4.8

[There’s now also a standalone article for the gallery itself: Fujifilm XF16-50mm F2.8-4.8 R LM WR sample gallery]

The new lens replaces Fuji’s earlier 18-55mm kit lens, which has long been regarded as a great lens in its own right. (A kit lens is an all-around lens bundled with camera bodies, and for several manufacturers that means the least-expensive, barely-capable lens in their inventory.) I also brought a Fuji X-T5 to make sure I was seeing how the new glass fared with Fuji’s 40 megapixel sensor.
