Photo Retouching in the Age of AI

I interview two Photoshop retouching masters about how modern tools are changing the way they work today.

AI-based photo retouching tools such as Evoto and Retouch4Me do an amazing job of retouching portraits, saving vast amounts of time compared to the manual processes that image retouchers once used. To see what kind of impact these technologies are having on the high end of professional work, I talked to two of the best in the business: Lisa Carney and Jesús Ramirez. In a new interview at CreativePro, we chatted about how these tools are helping, where they still fall down, and more importantly how it’s essential for artists to not shirk the foundations of retouching skills when the new tools don’t do the job correctly.
