My latest article for CreativePro takes a step back from individual photo applications and looks at facial recognition. Technology that started as a way to identify objects, and then specific people, is now being used in sophisticated ways to edit photos using machine learning. When the software can tell which areas are people, it can adjust those areas differently, as evidenced by portrait editing features in Photoshop, Luminar 4, and others.
