Edit Well, Final Cut Studio Newsletter

Although this blog is mostly focused on iMovie HD and iDVD, I always have one eye out for the next steps up: Final Cut Express and Final Cut Studio. I suspect you may also be curious about the pro tools, too.

I received email from Peachpit (my longtime publisher) about a new newsletter called Edit Well: The Interactive Newsletter for Final Cut Studio. I like the idea of it: a publication focused on Final Cut Studio, offering, in the words of editor Larry Jordan, “accurate, well-written, and in-depth help on how to use the advanced features of Final Cut Studio successfully.”

The first issue is available as a free download (4.8 MB, PDF), and contains articles about using masks and mattes, Compressor 2, understanding video scopes, and more. A subscription of 12 monthly issues costs $60. Give it a try. I haven’t sat down and gone over it in depth, but I’m thinking about subscribing based on what I’ve seen so far.
