Did I mention that I’m also going to CES (the Consumer Electronics Show) this week? I’m catching the tail end of it, but already there are things that I want to make a point of seeing.
For example, Sanyo’s HD1 Digital Media Camera, a super-compact HD camcorder that records directly to SD media. It boasts “720p HD Video Scanning (1280 x 760 Progressive)” resolution and saves the footage as MPEG-4 formatted video. Don’t think you can recycle the memory that came with your digital still camera, though: it can store rought 41 minutes of HD video on a 2 GB SD Card. Word from Gizmodo is that the HD1 will be available in March for around $800.
