Apple released watchOS 10.2 this week, bringing a few promised features and restoring a couple of earlier behaviors. Namely, you can now opt to swipe between watch faces to change them, a feature that was removed in watchOS 10.0, and an extra confirmation step to end a workout is now an optional item. Plus, having a watch (models including the Series 6 and later) near a HomePod (2nd gen) or HomePod mini now brings up the Now Playing app; previously this was available only on the latest Series 9 and Ultra 2 models.
I’ve now updated my book Take Control of Apple Watch to version 4.2 to reflect these changes. If you already own the 4th edition, this is a free update: log in to your account at Take Control Books to get the latest version. If you own a previous edition of the book, look for special upgrade pricing when you’re logged in.
And if you don’t yet own Take Control of Apple Watch, this is a great time to get it! It incorporates many changes brought about by watchOS 10 and the new watch models, gives you real-world knowledge about using the watch on a daily basis, and costs only $14.99!
