I bought the new iPhone 15 Pro when it was first available because I’m on the Apple Upgrade Plan (which lets me get the latest model every year and basically just lease the phone), and because I end up writing about Apple’s newest cameras. This was the first year I wavered, though, because the camera improvements didn’t seem like much above the iPhone 14 Pro. I’m glad I chose to get it.
Not just because it’s enabled me to write several articles about it, but because I think there are some really interesting aspects to shooting with this new set of cameras. Over at DPReview, I’ve put together a sample gallery of images that try to cover most situations: daylight, low light, Night mode, portraits, etc. It’s also notable that there are several options for resolution now, with the ability to shoot at 48 megapixels (MP) in the default HEIF format, not just in raw, and that the default resolution is 24 MP, up from 12 MP in the previous model.
Check out the photos here, and let me know what you think: iPhone 15 Pro sample gallery: Do its high-res photos measure up?
