I’m still downloading the following updates, so I haven’t had a chance to test them out. But they look promising.
iPhoto 5.0.2 (a 5.5 MB download) gains stability and improved performance, especially on PowerPC G3-based Macs. It also allows resizeable thumbnails in book layout mode and improves slideshow performance.
iMovie HD 5.0.2 (a 2.7 MB download) address audio and video synchronization, adds better support for passthrough devices (such as analog-to-digital converters), and improves exporting HDV (high definition) video back to the camera. It also seems to fix a bug where titles would disrupt DV video clips, and better handles iMovie 4 projects that used speed-adjusted clips. The release notes also mention working with iPhoto slideshows that include protected audio, but not exactly what has changed. I suspect that iMovie probably notes that a song is flagged and requires that your machine be authorized to play it.
iDVD 5.0.1 (a 2.6 MB download) improves stability and compatibility with iMovie HD and with iPhoto slideshows. All three updates are available via Software Update, or as separate downloads.
More after I’ve played with the new versions.
