iLife ’05 Announced at Macworld Expo

I’m back in my hotel room here in San Francisco after a whirlwind day at Macworld Expo. To my surprise, most of the expo rumors came true: Mac mini, iPod shuffle, and iWork ’05. That also means the imminent arrival (January 22) of iLife ’05, which includes iMovie HD and iDVD 5, as well as iPhoto 5 and GarageBand 2. I’m looking forward to getting my hands on them; until then, check out what we at TidBITS wrote after the keynote: iWork and iLife Together At Last.

This also means I’ll be updating my iMovie Visual QuickStart Guide in the coming months, as well. (Isn’t it fun to go to an event to learn what you’ll be working on in the near future?)

My colleague Jim Heid was able to sneak-peek iLife, and he says that iMovie is faster and more stable than previous versions. Whoo hoo! You can download a 16-page PDF preview of the new suite at his site: First Look: iLife ’05.
