Seattle Public Library” align=”right”>I’m spending the morning in downtown Seattle, so I’ve claimed a desk at the new Seattle Public Library, designed by Rem Koolhaas. It’s a great structure, even if it’s a little out of place downtown – but that makes it more appealing to me, frankly. I’m on the top floor, and this is the view from my desk. It’s nice and quiet, there’s a handy power socket here built into the table, and free Wi-Fi flows throughout. If you’re visiting Seattle, stop in and take a look around; it’s invigorating. (And for a fun touch, you can buy a t-shirt that says, “I read in a Koolhaas.” Makes me grin every time.) For more pictures from the grand opening, see Glenn’s collection.
